One strand of my research agenda focuses on issues of diversity and equity in youth literature, libraries, and education. I am currently researching representations of race and culture in young adult speculative fiction.
The other strand of my research agenda focuses on emerging technologies and effective integration of appropriate technologies in K-12 classrooms. I teach a variety of K-12 instructional technology sessions and workshops to pre-service teachers, practicing teachers, and K-12 media specialists.
Making connections and building relationships through service and community engagement is an important goal of mine. I take an active role in building relationships locally and holding leadership positions in state associations.
