Instructional Technology

One strand of my research agenda focuses on emerging technologies and effective integration of appropriate technologies in K-12 classrooms. I teach a variety of K-12 instructional technology sessions and workshops to pre-service teachers, practicing teachers, and K-12 media specialists. Below are a few examples of the slides and guides I use and a list of my past presentations.

K-12 Coding

This presentation provides an overview of  K-12 coding resources and examples of ways educators have incorporated coding into their classrooms. Participants in the workshop have the opportunity to explore coding games, kits, and websites that focus on teaching coding skills.

K-12 STEM & STEAM Resources

This guide contains the STEM and STEAM resources I use for training workshops and classroom demonstrations.

 
Augmented Reality

This presentation provides a quick overview of augmented reality and resources for teachers to use.

Makerspaces

This presentation provides a brief overview of ways to incorporate STEM and Makerspace resources into a library or classroom. Participants in the workshop have the opportunity to demo a variety of the kits we house in our curriculum materials center.

Technology for Teachers

This guide contains technology resources for teachers and students to use for a variety of instructional and learning tasks.

 
Classroom Book Apps

This presentation examines book apps that received rave reviews, explores ways they might be used in the classroom, and discusses a rubric designed for classroom book app evaluation.
